"I was introduced to Rod in a kaizen event which he was brought in to facilitate. Rod seized the moment and got the group up and running right away. Rod also capitalized on skills that were present in the group to work our event step by step and into a great applicable conclusion. Rod left us with a professional presentation worthy of the highest-level executives and made our kaizen event stand out as a solid effort and win for Diebold. Everyone involved went away from the event with a sense of accomplishment and a great sense of clarity and direction. Rod is one of a very select group of people I consider as a worthwhile business advisor. I will bring Rod in on any situation possible in the future. Rod is a great resource to have in your corner." Paul Martin, Supply Chain and Operations Leader

"We have been engaged with Value Generation Partners since the Fall of 2016. We engaged them to provide Green Belt training, which quickly grew into helping us down the journey of a full lean transformation of our business. Since then they have provided us with direct training and guidance on a variety of Lean / Six Sigma projects. Through this process, Rod and Kelli have become trusted advisors to our key leaders. Rod and Kelli have been tremendous resources for our business. Not only do they bring the technical acumen and the deep experience in Lean / Six Sigma, they do so in a very unassuming and humble manner that I think is rare among consultants. It is very clear in working with both of them that their #1 priority is the success of the client, and not how to get more money or set us up for the next consulting job. The result is a very high level of trust that has built between them and our team. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Value Generation Partners to any company that is serious about bring Lean / Six Sigma into their organization." Ted Bill, President, Pelican Wire Company, Naples, FL, USA

“This book (Project Management for Success) is one of the best kept project management (PM) secrets in existence. It is literally more than worth its weight in gold and has helped me manage very difficult projects. I highly recommend this book. Most project management books fall into one of two traps- they dwell in overwhelming, un-actionable detail on the knowledge areas, or they present a highly customized tailoring of the PMBOK that is too customized to be of practical use in another application or industry. This book avoids both of pitfalls. Rod Baxter's accompanying worksheet is easily customizable in setting up a Project Management Plan. The book goes on to show how to use each tool, and most importantly, shows the possible benefit from each tool and how the PM tools are logically linked to sequentially answer a logical question, which in turn drives the need for the next tool. Most PM volumes do not delineate that interaction and synergy, so the execution of the tools becomes an isolated exercise. But not so with the "Project Management for Success Handbook." I'm very grateful to the author for this superb, practical work that has helped me on difficult projects when the cards were down, his wisdom, as presented in the "Project Management for Success Handbook" and accompanying worksheet, has made my life and work much more enjoyable. Thank you!” Andy Rogish, Continuous Improvement Analyst at TE Connectivity

“Nice job Rod! Enjoyed your breakdown of the 5 culture types, culture gap analysis and rewarding the culture engagement.” Frank Damico, Program Manager, QSSI, Inc., Chapel Hill, NC, USA
-
"Rod is extremely knowledgeable about process improvement in so many different industries. That being said, he does not come in and act like a 'know it all.' He gently points out areas/opportunities for improvement and explains very clearly, supported with data, how changes can be made to certain processes and what results can be expected. Most recently he took on a consulting assignment in which he significantly helped a manufacturing company make numerous improvements in its processes, resulting in significant improvements in on-time and complete deliveries of products to its customers. The client commented to me, ‘Over the years, we have hired a number of consultants to help us with our processes. Rod has been—by far—the best we have ever had’." Dr. Robert Peterson, Continuing Education and Off-Campus Programs, Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft. Myers, FL, USA

“Rod, Thank you for the insight. I've been using SMART for employee reviews for several years. Applying it to other areas is just the kind of thing that makes you think, "why didn't I think of that"? “Rod, Love your books, I own all of them in multiple formats. They are at just the right level of detail to brush up on a tool that I may be rusty on, just enough detail to help with understanding the linkage to other tools and intended benefit from sequencing the tools, and yet not too much detail to send me on a self-induced, endorphin-producing rabbit trail of curiosity. If you are still in writing mode, may a make a suggestion? A flow-chart roadmap between your books - if I wanted to focus on portfolio management or change management or strategic alignment, or scoping a meeting/improvement event - the map would send me to the appropriate book-chapter-tool. I would pay good money for that! Thank you for the great work, and for helping me to be successful with the right tools on the job.” Andy Rogish, Continuous Improvement Analyst at TE Connectivity
-
“Great job, Rod! I do a lot of facilitation workshops so I really enjoyed seeing you mention things I find to be particularly helpful - DiSC Analysis (sometimes we use to kickoff a dysfunctional group to help everyone understand each other better) - Parking Lot (can't exist without it) - Understanding learning styles (e.g., visual) - SWOT - so many great concepts. I also enjoyed learning some new tools and framing the delivery of a Workshop as a Project is very on-point. Thanks!” Deborah Lazicki, Atlanta, GA, USA
